Oh I have no doubt that they traded him to give him a shot at the cup...like they did with Dale Hunter to the Avalanche.

 Get rid of Jagr (that has to be one of the worst trades/signings ever - up there with Pay-Rod to Texas for 1/4 bill)
 
 Dump all other NHL caliber players
 
 Send prospects away to minors
 
 Lose all games
