Which magazines?

I did read on an international site that the East Coast of the US is the epicenter for the Shoegazing Revival, or the Nu-Gazers. That surprised me a little bit because I had been thinking it was in Southern California and parts of Washington State and Oregon.

One thing that I had noticed for a long time now is that Insound often features recordings by Baltimore/DC bands. Insound has been getting a lot more national and international recognition lately so maybe they have been inadvertantly helping us out a lot.

This sort of reminds me of the late 70s when the Baltimore/DC/NYC corridor was extremely rich and vital in the New Wave/Punk scene though it was usually only NYC that got the recognition or most of the breaks. You young'uns and later transplants missed a great time within the local music scene.

good point flawd101...

i was just trying to get some new music tips but obviously people are more interested in my ability to read than what is actually going on...  so,  if anyone has any real good local bands they would like to share please do so, otherwise, dont worry what magazines i read.  i thought this forum would be a good place to talk good music with people who really do like music, but some of you have shown me i was wrong.    so please feel free to share i would really like to know about the local scene around here because i am new to the area and very curious.  if i see any local bands i will definatly share, good and bad....

or you could just say where you heard the local scene was about to get big, people talk about local bands all the time on here, but you started by saying the local scene is going to be big here, if people actually thought that I would be interested to hear about it
