Talk about your Super Secret Shows
« on: March 30, 2005, 11:05:00 am »
Clearily I'm either the only one who got a Volume this month or the holder of the one with the golden wrapper.  Let me ping the man behind the curtain to findout more for those in the know.

What does it say about the music climate when Gang of Four still isn't soldout in NYC, where one would expect to find a shrine in every rehersal space to them right next to the ones for the Ramones and Joy Division.  The bands influence is just so wide spread these days, partly because there are different phases of their career and sound.  Newer bands seem to hone in on one particular Gang of Four element and stretch it to max.

Whatever, it just means more room for the true believers....

let's just say that Gang of Four doesn't have the dance moves, costumes, or well-endowed members that modern audiences demand.

Gang of Four, New York Dolls, Echo and the Bunnymen, Billy Idol. C'mon people, fucking evolve already. Enough of this dinosaur rock. It's like going to watch a golf tournament consistinf of Jack Nicklaus, Arnie Palmer, Lee Trevino, and Gary Player. Or maybe a Conners/McEnroe tennis match.

Oh, and by the way, Jason Ringenberg is playing Sunday.
