 At 35 bucks?...Really though?

On second thought, I'm sure they'll be really good shows.  ;)

It's not like anybody else is touring, that close to Xmas.

Hey now, the Roots played arguably the best show they'd ever played on December 26th at the club either last year or year before last. So yeah, you'd be surprised who tours around X-Mas...

 Still...four nights...

99% sure Seth manages them.  They did a multi night show (3 nights?) before that sold out all nights, so why not?

Only once in the history of the 9:30 Club has any act dared to try to play four consecutive nights.

 Who was it?

seth does manage them. they sell out every show they do, both here in dc and elsewhere.

now, 4 nights in a row is a bit ambitious, but those shows are legendary and easily stretch to 2.5 hours of sweaty, dancing, madness with a crowd that is there to have fun.

i went to 2 out of 3 of the shows last summer and they are amongst some of the best concert experiences i've ever had. so, i've got tickets to all 4 nights next month. not sure that all 4 will sell out entirely, but at least 2 of them will and i'm sure the other 2 will be close to capacity.

if you haven't seen them before, i encourage you go check them out. they cram at least 10 musicians and singers on stage, do long sets, feed off the audience energy, and will guarantee you a good time. just wear a tshirt and shorts and hydrate yourself because its about 95 degrees in there with all those dancing bodies.

i've taken non followers of their music to their shows in the past and they have been truely impressed.

what lily1 said.

last year i took a hip-hop worshiping friend to see them at the 930, he walked out a convert.  now he's recruiting anyone who'll listen to him, telling them that they need to check out the show.  that TC show was one of my top-5 concerts for last year.

4 show could be seen as generous - last year's 3 concerts sold out so some people didn't get to see them.  this year they'll have a better chance.

i've got tickets to 2 shows.  i wouldn't be surprized if they end up selling out all four nights.

Master: Approach, my sons.  [they do] You may ask me three questions.

Apu: That's great, because all I need is one...

Homer: Are you really the head of the Kwik-E-Mart?

 Master: Yes.

 Homer: Really?

 Master: Yes.

 Homer: You?

Master: Yes.  I hope this has been enlightening for you.

 Apu: But I must...

 Master: Thank you, come again.

 Apu: But...

 Master: Thank you, come again.

Homer: Well, that was a big bust.  Is he really the head of the Kwik-E-Mart?

you know, people ask me all the time who my favorite live acts are

and my answer always includes Thievery Corp

yes, I work with them, but the fact that I love their show is more the reason I work with them than the other way around

anyway, the shows have sold half of their tickets in one day so they'll all be gone soon

to their credit, they elected to do this over trying to do something in a big place (it wasn't me - I can't tell them to do anything), so the ticket price reflects the usual economics of a big band playing a small venue

the shows will be historic, I promise...if you've never seen them, you are seriously fucking up if you don't and, if you have seen them, well...I don't think I need to tell you...
