Since i decided to go to Cohen on Monday, I will have to wait until their afternoon Bonnaroo set to see them.  Have fun at the local shows.

ah, their Roo set time is pretty meh IMO. 2:45 in the afternoon???
It surprised me as well. I was thiking they would have one of the later sets of the first night...

Any thoughts?  I was pretty psyched on the show...a couple slow moments, but they both were post-MPP songs (What Would I Want Sky and Bleed).  All in all, great hearing reworked versions of some older tracks, and pretty great, you know, actually HEARING they album they're touring in support of :)

Any idea of how much the setlist will differ tonight?  I have a ticket, but I'm on the fence for going.

Setlist from Collected Animals forum:

Chocolate Girl
Guys Eyes
Who Could Win a Rabbit
Summertime Clothes
Daily Routine
What Would I Want Sky
Leaf House
Fireworks w/ Lablakely Dress Intro
Lion in a Coma
Brother Sport
---
Bleed
Also Frightened
My Girls

Got Haggis?

I'm ready for them to retire the MPP set after this tour.

Already seen it twice and tonight will be #3.

Enough; time for some new shit!

Not very different at all.

You can dig them up if you want; the first was the last 930 show (found on npr.org) and the 2nd was 1/20/09 (up on archive.org).

Post write-up on last night

"As the band stretched 13 songs into nearly two hours at their hometown show, a new microgenre seemed to emerge -- vocal jam band."

Funny...Snailhook referred to them as "this decade's Phish" the other night. :)

They change the order but that's about it.

Over the last two years, at least.

AC was cool tonight.

Their fans are very rude though. I felt really bad for Grouper - it sounded like a fucking cafeteria during her set.

I totally expected that. :(

Same thing happened last time with Tickly Feather.

The only difference is that Grouper is about 1000x better than Tickly Feather. :(
Felt awful for her.

totally true. i knew nobody was going to give a shit about grouper. you'd think the AC guys would know better than to have that kind of opening act. you gotta know your crowd!

i prefer AC's material from 2001-2003. i really don't care for the last few albums, and their live shows just go on and on.

"Comfy in Nautica" was a huge treat.  I think the September '07 show was a little better--it's hard to top "Leaf House" and "We Tigers," and we actually got my favorite MPP track then but not last night ("In the Flowers").  Still, good stuff overall, and a tremendous encore.

They did play one track from each of the first three albums last night which was nice.
Setlist:
Chocolate Girl
Summertime Clothes
Guys Eyes
What Would I Want Sky
Comfy in Nautica
My Girls
Slippi
Daily Routine
Bleed
Lablakely Dress/Fireworks
Banshee Beat
Who Could Win a Rabbit
Brother Sport

Chocolate Girl opener was great.

But I stand by what I said; the MPP set has to go come next tour.
