you posted this!?  good job, mate.  merry christmas to you and all yours.

too bad i hate downloading though.  man, i'm an old fart.

yup, i posted that.  i saw phish twice in the past 2 years, and enjoyed both shows.  they weren't life-changing or mind-blowing experiences - but i had a good time.

i lived 2 years in princeton and would have killed for something this cool to come through.  there were a few ok acts that played but i always seemed to miss them.  i did catch akron/family at an "alternative frat-house".  they were horrible.  the show was free, they had free beer, but i would have been better off staying at home that night and stabbing #2's into my ears.

get over downloading already.  it's free, it's being distributed with the artist's permission, and it's a high-quality recording.  enjoy the gift already :)

from www.yeasayer.net:

Hello Everyone!

We hope this message finds you well and that 2010 has brought you it's best.  It has been an amazing year for us and we owe a lot to you, our fans and supporters, for all the successes and the ability to do what we love.

In thanks, we have decided to release a live show that was recorded at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels on October 28th, 2010.  We didn't want to put a value on the live album, so it's up to you to decide what works best for you.  This is being offered to you first before any viral spread, so please go here to download:  http://yeasayer.net/xmas/

Again, this doesn't happen without you and we are forever grateful.  Thank you for allowing us to move forward to 2011 with more ideas and tunes to share.

Peace and Happy Holidays.

YEASAYER Family

free klaxons

http://www.klaxons.net/

so, since it is the new norm for bands to give stuff, sometimes even whole albums, away for free, what is     next . . . them paying us to listen to their music?  maybe free sex.  free bags of groceries.  how about jobs as roadies if you'll just give them a chance.

Probably an entire free tour. What band did the show for 1$ tickets at 930 a few years back? They should do that again.

Any who, here's a podcast recorded for us by TITTSWORTH! It was recorded live at Uhall! The free download still isn't up but you can stream it! I'll post the link once the download goes up, but give it a listen and dannnccee!

a new track from The Dears from their upcoming album is available from NME's "The Daily Download" blog.  the Record Label Profiles #3: Ninja Tune looks pretty tasty.

and in case you know an aspiring independent film maker, or are one, moby is making some music available for free as long as it's a non-commercial project: http://www.mobygratis.com/.  he's also giving away a 3-song EP, pulled from his forthcoming album, on www.moby.com
