Paging Challenged's wallet

PLEASED TO MEET ME (DELUXE EDITION)
will be available as a 3 CD/1LP set and digitally on October 9

more than half of the music (29 of the 55 tracks) on this deluxe edition set is unreleased material, including demos, rough mixes, and outtakes, as well as Bob Stinson’s last recordings with The Replacements from 1986.

Pre-order your copy and listen to six previously unreleased “rough mixes,” including “Alex Chilton,” here: https://Rhino.lnk.to/pleasedtomeetme

Somewhat related, but posted months ago
It is Dec. ’84. The ‘Mats play CBGB billed as Gary & The Boners. Paul: “Sometimes we're going for the big kamikaze thing. I'd rather have them hating our guts in some circumstances, so they can at least go 'Who the fuck was that band?’”. "I [took] the entire Warner Bros. staff to see them," said WB talent scout Michael Hill of the CBGB show. "People looked at me like, 'What is it you like about them?'".  Listen to This Is CBGB (featuring a few ‘Mats classics) on Spotify
 now. https://lnk.to/cgbgplaylist/spotify

Yes.
Every day i am challenged to NOT spend money: by reissues, poster drops, t-shirts, live streaming ticketed events.

Today (so far) I succumbed to this Replacements reissue, and to the GBV streaming event.

It's good to see they are releasing the rarities discs separately...

CD box set of John Prine's first seven albums
If they did this on vinyl, I'd snap up pretty quickly.

The first 4 are being reissued on vinyl on 18 Sep.  There was a box version for RSD last week.

I said I’d snap it up quickly, not “I’d queue for hours in hopes my local retailer has one”.

Available from popmarket for $78 all in using promo code THANKS10

I just can’t do it...  even at that price

I think anything more than $50 is too much...these box sets just sit on shelf...am I ever going to want to play demos and outtakes? Once?

It is a pretty important album to me but am fine with the CD or regular LP...

yeah unless it's a two disc set with the b-sides collected which many UK releases are, i'm probably not that interested.

i remember streaming the last Replacements re-issue Dead Man's Pop which has a concert from that time period and thinking well, won't need to listen to that again...

everyone once in awhile i'll get excited about a deluxe re-issue i.e. 1999, but i still haven't watched either of the DVDs that came with it.

and that sign o'times re-issue is just a beast, which i'll probably stream once
