maybe the ones who bought their central park tickets are the hipsters...(only going because everyone else is, not because they actually enjoy listening to pavement :-*

Hey, does anyone actually give two fucks about "how far back" anyone of us goes with Pavement?  Jesus christ, it's the most annoying boring bullshit I read on this board.

Now THAT'S some street cred.

Also, can we retire the word "hipster", or at least get a board-approved working definition?  So far, I've figured out that you're a hipster if you like a band with hype.  Or if you hate a band that's hyped.  If you like a band that's not hyped.  Or if you have a band that's not hyped.  I think as long as I listen to mainstream radio I'm safe.

Julian, you're the best wordsmith here...care to take a stab?

these shows are a YEAR away... i'd feel nervous buying tickets for something that far in the future, with a band known for its volatility.

like i said, i'm holding off.  i don't even know where i'll be next year and how feasible it will be to catch this show in NYC.  i'm counting on others being in the same situation so i can get tickets from them.

i got a ticket to the tuesday night show along with a pretty big group of friends. the same group of us also saw superchunk too :) most people i know are die-hard pavement fans who got tix, but most of you would prob throw us in with the hipster crowd too.

assuming im in nyc, im going to make sure im working at summerstage on some of the other dates as well. a win/win for me! :D
