Jaguar and Killsaly, you both have to grab this if you haven't already:
Jefre Cantu-Ledesma - Love Is A Stream

I am only two tracks in but am pretty sure both of you will love it.

Sade - Soldier of Love album...apart from the title track, this is such a boring album.

There's nothing in my history of liking shit that suggests I would like Joanna Newsom and yet I like her a lot. Loved the 6th and I show from earlier in the year.

I've tried countless times to delve into Have One on Me and cannot for the life of me get it to hold my attention for more than 2-3 songs.

Ditto.  People need to start realizing her first album is flawless and that everything after is pretty blech.  I gave Ys the benefit of the doubt, but after hearing that new one, it turns out they're both pretty boring and nonsensical.  Like the Matrix sequels.

Thought YS was pretty good.

Firebutt McGee/ixkpd-bk's rendition of "Emily" is about 37 times better than the original, though.

were the matrix sequels the worst follow ups that could have been so much more, in movie history?  even worse than star wars one through three?  thanks for the heads up on the harpy . . . i check out her first album instead.

Chemical Brothers Further was probably my favorite release of the year

I think so re: the Matrix sequels.  I think the second movie could have been amazing...if it wasn't followed up and explained by that awful last one.

Even though I unabashedly love JN's first album...it's definitely not for everyone.  I think I've finally beaten my wife down enough to like it, but I think her voice definitely makes it a difficult listen for most.  Much more minimal than the follow-ups, and that's mostly what I like about it.  Plus, her songwriting isn't bogged down by too much pretension on that first album.  I mean, Ys has some great lyrical content too, but it's so much more direct on the Milk-Eyed Mender. IMO.

Just listened to Soviet League (The Sugarplastic and The Autumns), can't wait to get my hands on the disc.  Quirky chamber pop at it's finest.
