They get Crooked Crab cans and drafts regularly at Downtown Crown. I have not tried any of their beers yet. I don't think they are a hype brewery or anything like Sapwood, probably (guessing) a good but flying below the radar brewery like Elder Pine and Nepenthe.

are you saying sapwood is a "hype brewery"?  or that CC isn't a hype brewery, nor are they like sapwood (in some unspecified way)?

or even heard of it before this "tournament"?
had like only 1500 votes max per round...with 64 breweries, seems like mostly friends and family
I could find no info on this other than the link that was provided

sapwood mentioned that this poll/tournament was organized by the Maryland Beer Drinkers Club, a group with 10,000 members (on FB, at least). i'd never heard of them before.  FB page was created in 2012.

Folks go there to talk and trade, iirc? I don’t have a FB account so I never looked into it.

Sapwood gets a fair share of hype, Crooked Crab does not. That's just my instinct. Could be wrong. They probably both get what they deserve.

Being in Odenton doesn't help CC much. At least Sapwood is conveniently located off 95, half-way between Btown and DC.

We need a, basic beer thread, for hutch.  Where we discuss PBR vs Devils Backbone and whether to actually put an orange slice into a Blue Moon.

From AstroLab via Twitter

We have an exciting weekend ahead starting with a mini-tap takeover by our mates at @crookedcrabbrewing! A sneak peak of our upcoming Double IPA collab release, we're psyched be serving two of their beers on tap in our taproom from Friday until they run out. ⠀

That sounds awful. Marshmallow stout? Maybe. Marshmallow IPA? No way, Jose.

Yikes. I'm still very eager to get some but the early feedback is discouraging.

I had a Zombie Dust last night, and it was fine. Just think West Coast IPA, and you'll be ok.

Heading out to hike Little Devils Stairs in VA today, with a stop at Pen Druid on the way home.

Then hiking Loudoun Heights Sunday, with beer stops TBD....Wheatland Spring, Vanish Farmwoods, and Dynasty are the possibilities (haven't been to any of them.)

Vanish is a great spot, I think their offerings are very good, not sure they get the YSOA tho
I love their merch too...with all the 80s punk rock/skater references
best to go when the weather is warm would be my only caveat
