O/U at 5.5 ... lol...
Again, this line was incredible if true.

i shall now proceed to empty at least 1 full bottle of wine (possibly more)
Whoa, whoa, you can't bring up drinking without telling us what v&v you're drinking. I've been doing alot of Torrontes lately, and I usually stick up my nose at anything not from France or Italy.

Doing g&t's here, but my girl totally shattered her glass on her hand a few minutes ago. Poor baby. :( :( :(

Not to pee on Canada's parade, but I really wish the Russian coach wasn't an idiot and didn't leave Nabokov in for those pathetic last two. This at 5-3 would make for an exciting 3rd.

Anyone else staying up for Finland/Czechs and/or Sweden/Slovakia?

He's getting smoked right here in Julian's America! Once 930.com has turned on you, who gives about the Russia viewpoint after that?

i wonder how much money vegas is losing on 5.5, if that is indeed true?

i shall now proceed to empty at least 1 full bottle of wine (possibly more)

i'm a huge fan of french and italian wine, but my curiosity was piqued last night while at trader joe's: TJ's has their own reserve, a 2006 californian cab.  it's pretty damn good, but IMO it's lacking 2 small things: it's a tad below full-bodied (which i would normally expect from a cab reserve), and a smidgen less than dry... some of the fruitiness has a hint of sweet.  these are 2 complaints i often have of californian heavies.  but for $10 it's an absolute steal.

The over under was 5.5. Feel free to google it. One would think they would have learned from the Germany game that Canada can score.

I wasn't accusing you of a mistake; I am simply incredulous about the mind-blowing stupidity of thinking the 2 most star-studded hockey teams on Earth coupled with non-big game goalies could possibly combine for only 5 goals.

glad i didn't end up betting anything last night (not that i would have, i'm not a big gambler either and wouldn't know where to place a bet if i wanted to).  i would have gotten the over on CAN-RUS, but lost on USA -2.5.

i'd suspect they don't like the fact that their big superstar didn't show up, and are afraid this "slump" will carry over to his return to washington.  if ovie couldn't pull it together at the olympics, which he was on record as being highly motivated for, what will this mean for his regular day job?

I think 80% of Caps fans were not Caps fans prior to Ovechkin, therefore, on some level, they're truly fans of him, not the Caps.

This also goes for the Penguins/Crosby on some level as well, although not to as great a degree.

i told ya... it's an oddly captivating sport.  after you've watched a little bit and gotten a hang of the game, every single end (curling's equivalent of an inning, for the unaware) becomes an object of intrigue.  nothing is decided until the last stone, so how will he/she get himself/herself out of this jam?
