As the Zamboni company is quick to point out, the Vancouver Olympics are utilizing sub-standard Canadian built ice resurfacing machines; not real Zamboni's.

I think 80% of Caps fans were not Caps fans prior to Ovechkin, therefore, on some level, they're truly fans of him, not the Caps.

This also goes for the Penguins/Crosby on some level as well, although not to as great a degree.

i will say that i do find the over the top hate people send sid's way pretty funny. i wouldnt get 87 on a sweater if i still lived in pittsburgh, but i wear crosby stuff like crazy, just because people hate him so much
