Are you sure that's not a DC101 event?

searched twitter and saw this "in studio for @virginfestival #freefestsessions w/ rival schools! amazing... so psyched for the new album"
Nice, I really enjoyed them at Ottobar earlier this year.  They only played two new songs, and both were very good.

Expect Pavement to play Virgin Free Fest.  Other possibilities Soundgarden, Buckcherry, 3 Days Grace, A Day to Remember, Mastodon, Gaslight Anthem & Rise Against.

Buckcherry and 3 days are in Hershey that day (thank God... Nickelback headlining would be...), A day to remember and Rise Against in Cali the next day for Epicenter, Mastodon is in NJ.

Sonic Youth is free that day.  How about Sonic Youth --> LCD Soundsystem --> Pavement

V-fest has been too mainstream to pull off something that awesome.

That'd be a cool stage 2 lineup though.

2007 lineup
4:00-4:50 -- Peter Bjorn and John
5:30-6:30 -- LCD Soundsystem
7:15-8:15 -- TV on the Radio
8:45-10:00 -- Modest Mouse

And last year had St. Vincent, Hold Steady, National... it could happen.

Yes thats why its still possible.  They could play early in the day around Noon to 2 p.m. Buckcherry & 3 Days Grace and make their gig in Hershey (about an hour and 45 minutes away) and Mastodon Philly (2 hours).  Rise Against and A Day to Remember can still fly out and get rental equipment to play Virgin Festival.  AFI did it for the HFS Nutcrackers years back and other bands did it for the HFStival.  Gaslight Anthem we will know this week or next  because their announcing another USA tour.

Ohh nice. I'd like that, especially if Faith No More were headlining the other stage opposite Pavement. :)

If the ability to travel by airplane to the gig is an option I would say Matt & Kim are available to play.

do bands really want to play for an hour for free?  in this day and age, if i was a band with all the free stealing of music, i would say a big fuck you to that.
