What's the point of them?  You don't have lower ticket fees...  It just reminds me how much I wish 9:30 would use ticketalternative.com instead.  They actually do have lower fees.

Yeah, I just got two Low tix and with fees it came out to $36.  A bargain.

If ticketfly does crash, where will the backdoor links to buy tickets be posted?  Here, twitter, etc?

the official line is that TF is cheaper than TM for MPP shows and MPP shows only.  there is little difference for 930 club tickets.  as others have mentioned it's pretty comparable to the old regime (tickets.com).

More than MPP. Almost all of our venues, actually.

Unless you're just referring to the venues in your area.

And yes we will be around on Twitter/ Facebook/ here/ The Phish forums posting alternate links if anything goes wrong.

you know . . . i like widespread panic.  they have this awesome presale for their shows and yes sometimes multiple shows go on sale the same day making it suck.  but i see they went multiple show passes for the latest tour, making it easier.  i've always got my tickets through their presale and paid less than ticket services everytime, and they send out the tickets just as quick as ticketmaster.  phish should ditch the lottery and go with straight up presale.  or create an entire internet based company with low overhead to just sell the tickets outright and control the fees so fans are happy.  they're big boys with enough power.  all bands should push it.  who will be the first, which will alter the landscape?  radiohead . . . mmm?  and whatever happened to devendra banhart, besides the art?  the bands will more than likely raise the price of tickets to overcome the cuts from ticket sellers, but people don't bitch as much about that anymore unless it's flat out fucking ridiculous like rolling stones or madonna.

"and whatever happened to devendra banhart...?"

He is still sucking it up somewhere.

I wonder if Michael Gira unleashed that no-talent douche on us as an evil prank of sorts. He does appear to get off on fucking with/torturing people at shows and otherwise; no AC and piercing drones for 25-30 minutes at that last Swans show before he hit the stage I can deal with but signing/promoting Devendra Banhart just crosses the line.

Ugh did I just write a walkies-style rant?

almost.  needs a little more batshit, and at least one tenuous link between the topic at hand and 1) living in the country/cities are dangerous, 2) dino jr/the dead kennedys/widespread panic/the knife, or 3) a conspiracy theory.  throw in a cat picture and you're there ;)

Just thinking about TF this week. It's been awhile since I have used ticketweb and although I do remember the prices were decent as well as the fees, I was pleasantly surprised and wish TF would consider lowering prices. Two tickets to Twilight Singers at another venue were $37.50 for two -fees were only $3.75!!!!!!! for each ticket; ticket price = $15. Seriously, I probably would have paid almost $40 for one ticket for a 930 + TFly show.

I could be wrong but am pretty sure Ticketweb have been an arm of TM for a while.

And I think that the venue also has a say in what fees are. Look at other venues that use TF for examples. 930 are on the high end.

I agree...TF charges a processing fee of $4 for 930 shows....other TF venues don't charge this processing fee

What's the rationale for the alternate links?  At one point should we assume that ticketfly can't manage the traffic and is resorting to randomly posting temporary links on twitter etc?  This was part of the problem last time, not a proper solution.

Ticketfly Amy- Should TF crash during the Phish sale on Friday, where will the backdoor links to purchase be posted first?  I understand you will be posting them in multiple place (here, PT, twitter, etc) but where is the first place I should be looking?
