I had a great time. The crowd was kind of hostile.
He started the set playing some songs - a few have appeared on SNL (Brendan Canty and Mary Timony were in his band)
Then he did some impressions, some q and a, showed clips of Portlandia, a drum set, and it was all kind of unstructured.
I don't know if people were expecting stand-up or what, but there were some people in the crowd who clearly have never been to the Black Cat and acted like real douches.
It's the kind of thing that would have gone over well at a venue like the Largo in LA, but I'm not sure it was suited for the DC crowd.
