Those are good prices for seeing those acts in a club (though they're not the two I would pick), but a shed? On the same day? With shorter sets?

$50 is a lot for just those two.

my thinking on this:
- FM is worth $20 to me.
- clutch is worth $20 to me.
- spending a lazy saturday afternoon at MPP listening to bands i might not otherwise ever hear: at least $10.

so financially i've already justified this to myself :)

shed: this isn't a minus, for me, as long as it's MPP.  allows for multiple stages, something you can't get in a club where if you don't like the band on stage you're pretty low on options.  you can get some sun and fresh air.  lots of food and drink options.  sometimes there a market.

same day: i don't think this is a bad thing.  it's a long day and you need to pace yourself (well, some of us do), but it makes for a one-day musical vacation.

shorter sets: this is a definite and big negative, can't argue there.  FM should hopefully get an hour, maybe even an hour and a half if they headline the second stage.  getting only 40 minutes of clutch would/will suck.  hey seth...

Fair enough. I do know i'd pay

$25 to see Dr. Dog
$20 to see Avett Brothers
$15 to see Flogging Molly
$10 to see Clutch
50 cents to see Gin Blossoms

individually at clubs, but I wouldn't pay $35 or $50 too see that shed festival. Sorry...

Weren't Soundgarden tickets available today?  Pre-sale, maybe?  I didn't try but wonder what kind of seats were up for grabs.

i'd pay $50-$75 just to see mars volta.  chris cornell's voice makes me want to break glass . . . over my head and then drink the blood from my open neck veins.

I just don't get the Mars Volta. I've tried. But it just sounds like a bunch of people frustrated that their instruments aren't making the kind of sound they want them to, so they spend 3 hours performing in the hope that it'll come out right but it never does.

They're talented as hell but don't seem to understand that sometimes less is more.

The Mars Volta had 15 minutes of fame?

Their albums can run to the self indulgent and wankish, but their show at the 930 a few years ago is easily one of the five best shows I saw in the last decade.

A minimum wage worker would have to work like a whole day to buy all of these tickets.  You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

I like Vitamin Water.  Tasty.

The regular VW doesn't do it for me but the VW Zero is surprisingly good, particularly as a throat moistener while enjoying a Kodiak dip

I drink a ton of VW.  The problem for me is that every time I choose a flavor, they discontinue it.

I will never forgive them for discontinuing "Connect" - the black cherry flavor with 44mg of caffeine.  I think it might have been the subject of the lawsuit about VW not being as healthy as they claim.

Now they've moved on to a zero flavor called drive that also has caffeine, but only 30 mg.  Weak sauce....
