the band's presale sold out in less than 2 hours, for the DC show, and it wasn't widely advertised.
Thanks. I just couldn't for the life of me determine the club's sale b/c it appears it sold out in the band's presale.

anyone else pleasantly surprised to see the magnetic fields at the club rather than a sit-down theater?

The new album sounds as though it will be more electronic like Holiday/Charm/Get Lost. More electronic = less acoustic = something that is easier to stand through? Maybe that also means we will get some Future Bible Heroes thrown in as well as more tracks from those three records.

maybe the Lisner is not available for that date? the other dates are either in sit-down theaters (Boston, NYC) or GA clubs (Philly, North Carolina).

Im not sure why this is surprising. Theyve been touring a lot and started at the smaller clubs, gained a huge following and progressively bigger shows. I cant imagine things were all that
different in DC. They were playing as openers quite a bit (in NYC) then it was Bowery/MHOW - Webster Hall - Terminal 5 and next will be Rumsey Playfield (central park). It seems its the same down there.

They have another song (or 2) on the radio as it is. Its not that surprising?!

It would appear that we have returned to when a band can tour in support of a single

Has anyone mashed up "Pumped Up Kicks" with "Cleveland Rocks" yet?

It would at least be as good as "21 Telephone Lines."

You have been missing nothing.
Kenny G practicing circular farting into a recorder would be more exciting than seeing them.

Never heard of this foster band, did a youtube search and 48 million views?  sheesh.

Really?  They were all over the summer festival scene and did SNL a couple months ago (rather poorly I might add).  You would almost have to try NOT to have heard of them.

The timing of the show makes me thing they will pushing a follow up album before then.  Whether or not it sells out will depend on the success of that album and who the opener is.  They were fairly well attended at the two festivals I saw them at this summer which lends credence to Seth's hypothesis on the timing of today's bands meteoric rise.

The fact that FTP keeps getting tagged "indie" just shows how meaningless the term has finally become. These guys are to indie what Matchbox 20 was to "alternative". They probably thought that they were being all ironic and shit with the Kenny G cameo--or expected their audience to think so--but it was really symptomatic of how industry inside they really are.
