Possibly the worst venue I've ever been to. It's an ex-dance club that has in no way been retrofitted for concerts. They stuck a stage and a shitty PA in a back corner next to the restrooms. Total pile of crap.

Thanks for the heads up?  I am going regardless of what the venue is like; it is either Richmond or nothing...

It was intended as a heads up. Get there early or you're going to be stuck in the back which has an extremely blocked view of the stage. I have drawn this quick MS Paint picture of the layout so you can understand the issue.



EDIT: I also neglected to indicate that even in that back alcove by the stage, there are several old-930esque poles splitting up the room.

That's the other funny thing: bottle service (of liquor) is technically illegal in VA. I asked how they do bottle service then and they told me they bring the bottle of alcohol out in a locked box and every time you want a drink you flag down a waitress and she will unlock the box and pour it for you and then relock it.

I'm seeing some promise, young padawan.  If you could do a mock-up of all the local venues between Richmond and Philly, along with recommendations for positioning yourself and tips about bottle service, I'm sure we could monetize it.  I eagerly await your artwork.

That's weird. They're playing The National on that same tour which is larger than 930. Maybe when they decided to add the late (relative to the rest of that tour) DC show, all other venues were already booked?

Not only that, but they sold out 930 Club. Maybe they're just trying to play other clubs? Most of the rest of the tour was announced awhile ago so this could have been added later. Either way I'm stoked to see them play in a significantly smaller space.
