Firefly Reveals 2016 Lineup
Meh--squared

I find 4-day festivals that don't allow you to buy single-day tickets to be totally pointless. I don't have 4 days of my life to waste on a festival in friggin' Delaware. I think it's presumptuous and greedy.

If you had to pick the holy trinity of "bands that top lineups for things like this that I do not understand the appeal of at all" it would be Kings Of Leon, Mumford and sons, and Florence and the Machine.

Agreed. But a friend on Facebook said "I don't go to many concerts, but this is one I'd go to see". So there you have it. Festivals are now booked to lure in people who go to concerts infrequently because it's an amalgam of "big" name headliners aimed at pleasing the masses. Riotfest is the only one that seems enticing to me...there's always something good there.

I have a friend who wants to go to Osheaga this year and I'm very worried they're going to turn up sharing the same headliners. Ugh.

But will people who go to concerts infrequently really be willing to commit to four entire days of camping, porto-potties and bands? I feel like the line-up does not sync with the kinds of people who are willing to do this.

I had to scroll up in the thread to answer the question "Who just said something so profound that I want to kiss them?" and found it was you.

Don't worry, I don't want to kiss you.

As long as there wasn't tongue, I'd be pretty cool about it.

Oneohtrix Point Never - March 15th, Ottobar
Nice.  The Ottobar lineup for 2016 is already shaping up nicely... I need to get a pass for next year (regretfully skipped this year) as it almost pays for itself with just what I want to see in the first three months of 2016.

this is more of an A/V show than a concert, is it not?  thinking about catching him next week.

dang, that firefly lineup is weak. firefly and sasquatch had similar lineups last year, so this is concerning.

I have never seen him so not sure.  The live videos i just checked out look like he is doing the usual electronic music deal; twisting knobs with a computer.  Visuals do look sweet...

The old drummer, plus some guy who joined the band 30 years after they formed, and a bunch of guys who mostly have been with the group since 2015?

Jeez... Their former member list is insane.
