by the way St. Germain has cancelled.. I wonder if it was poor ticket sales or what happened.. I thought at $48 plus fees for a band that had their huge moment 15 years ago it was a bit pricey....maybe they had visa issues ..who knows...

The $48 price included a digital copy of their latest album. If ticket buyers had already downloaded it, do they still get a full refund? How much of the ticket price was the download?

I've noticed that the Ben Harper shows are also saddled with a CD copy of his latest. Tickets are $57.50 and neither show is sold out, unlike in the past. Maybe such 360'ed packages are the problem.

Maybe Ben Harper is using the CD as a way justify higher show prices to himself but I don't think that consumers actually see it as a package.  I know that I see no added value in the CD.  When Prince did this with Musicology (at the time groundbreaking marketing) I ended up with 3 copies of that CD.  Didn't stop me from going, but I surely wasn't willing to pay extra for a cd I didn't want to have.

To be fair, I've never paid over $38 for a fifth of St. Germain and I'm in an ABC state.

It looks like Chris Stapleton is headlining instead of Isbell...

Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton and Frank Turner
June 18 - Columbia, MD - Merriweather Post Pavilion

Chris' email said "Co-Headliner" as I mentioned below.

I am (maybe) in.  Hopefully the GwarBQ is not the same weekend.
The mere thought that there is overlap in potential attendees of GwarBQ and Lock'n is eye-opening.
The people watching would be mind blowing...

You should go to Lock'n in an elaborate GwarBQ costume and review it for us.

Not really... I mean, I like Phish and Ween, but do I want to camp in the middle of the summer with a bunch of wookies? Maybe 15 years ago?

Edit: I've seen both of these bands too many times to count and wouldn't want to deal with any of the logistics around that event. If there were day passes and Ween/Phish were playing on the same day, I'd consider that.

I take it back... pondering renting a cabin and taking a shuttle to and fro.

Will report back.  ;D

and thank goodness WSP isn't playing there.

but expect big things

I thought she and her band were great, real treat to see

She's playing a few times in Richmond at The Broadberry 2/19 and 3/4

Assuming when the album drops we'll get a DC date

Hey, good catch. I've seen Lucy a few times and she is definitely the next Black Girls/Matthew E White/Natalie Prass outta RVA. If you like Waxahatchee, you will like her. Hyped for the LP release.

4/3
Tony Visconti & Woody Woodmansey's HOLY HOLY - Celebrating David Bowie
@ Baltimore Soundstage

man in NY they are doing
Wed Mar 30 New York NY Carnegie Hall
Fri Apr 1 New York NY Radio City Music Hall

sound stage is only 1000 capacity
what a dump after playing RCM and Carnegie hall

IMO it's a great show and worth seeing
The Heaven 17 guy did an amazing job on the vocals
I just hope Tony's daughter isn't still the opening act

Wonder what they mean by 'celebrating david bowie' on this tour
as the last tour was 'the man who sold the world' plus all songs that Woody was on (70-73)
is this going to do a more complete retrospective??

well, can't say I'm excited and don't plan on going
it really was a top notch performance and they are a little bit more than a cover band
not much, but 2 spiders from mars says something...but no Ronson or Bowie...they were the meat of the organization

I was more commenting that they are playing giant venues in NYC and SS in bal
