Stiff Little Fingers
« on: January 09, 2004, 09:09:00 am »
SLF are supporting the Dropkick Murphys at Nation on Feb 6th, doors at 6pm...  Saw them a couple years ago in Edinburgh, and they brought down the house with Bruce Foxton on bass.  The band is no punk novelity act as they continue to release new material and are as vibrate today as they were in the day. Shame it's at Nation and they probably wont get a full set.. still it's an early show and tickets are $17.

I just noticed that this morning.  I didn't even know SLF were still around.  How are the Dropkick Murphys?  I'm not sure I want to drop $17 just to see SLF in a large hall full of people who don't care about them.

The Dropkick Murphy's are good but you'll have to dodge skinheads and 15 year olds fighting each other.

As for SLF, I didn't realize they were still around.

It's weird, being from New England, the Dropkick Murphys are local favorites, and all sorts of folks like them...but for some reason, they're one of those bands that attract a rather odd following in other locations. i.e. skinheads. oh well...

At least 3 fights broke out at the last gig I saw them at.  Of course that was with their old singer and it was at least 4 years ago.  Things may have changed.

The Stiffies

I do believe that Bruce Foxton still has the same haircut he had in the Jam.  They played the Black Cat in 97 and although have played the US since then haven't included DC on the schedule.
