Quentin Tarantino heading up Hendrix film The cult filmmaker tackling the story of a rock legend. Quentin Tarantino will tackle the untouchable rock image of Jimi Hendrix in a new biopic planned for a possible 2007 release.
Tarantino is known for his particularly extravagant 60's and 70's themed film scores and plans to begin shooting the as-yet-unnamed project later this year in Seattle. The director was said to have been won over by the 'impressive' script and is already reported to be well underway with the film's pre-production.
Although no cast or title have been yet confirmed, the feature has the full backing of the Hendrix estate. According to producers at Dragonslayer Films, Tarantino will work with Hendrix's brother, Leon, to tell the story of the guitar legend's rise and fall.
