New Order gets back together without Hook (aka payback's a bitch)

Unreal

http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/news/20110905_neworder.shtml

Gillian's quote seems to indicate this is more permanent than not..."It's been a long ten years since I took a break from the band, so I I'm really happy to be back, and this is a great place to start."

Its no secret how badly things deteriorated...and Sumner - and maybe the others I'm not sure- did not like Hook touring Joy Division

THis was Peter Hook last week (he is going to respond on this "reunion" tomorrow)...

Last week, Hook told Slicing Up Eyeballs that he and his former New Order bandmates were discussing when and how to release seven remaining outtakes from the sessions of the band?s final album, 2005′s Waiting for the Sirens? Call. He described the talks as contentious (?They keep elbowing me out all the time. Every time I try to do something, I get outvoted.?), but gave no indication he was aware of the decision to reform New Order without him.

Saw the original line-up twice back in the 80's.  Most boring live band ever.

Never saw them live... to me Joy Division/New Order are the most important band of the past 30+ years.

Who knew they'd end up like Pink Floyd?

You're actually not the first person I've heard that from......why did you go a second time though?

Your definition of "important" isn't like everybody else's, is it?  For what?  Making a 12" that looked like a floppy disc?  Doing a lot of drugs?  Running a club into the ground?

Let's face it, New Order haven't been the same since Ian Curtis left.  Or was that Syd Barrett?

only 1 band is important . . . and their bass player killed himself sometime ago.  their last album wasn't that great, but their logo is immortal.

Are you sure he isn't talking about the Dead Milkmen?
