University of Maryland's new football unis
« on: September 06, 2011, 07:42:55 am »

I was driving and listening to the game so I didn't see them right away.  And I honestly think they're cool.  Maryland's a great state.  They have a lot to be proud of.  They're punk.

I can't believe no one's ripping Georgia's new uniforms.  THOSE are awful:

Is Oregon's look THAT influential?

Pretty confident they don't care about sales of the new jersey/s. All they care about is people talking about the jerseys. Period.

And god, they were atrocious.

Hey MD natives? What does the red and white logo on the flag represent? I know the black and yellow represents Baltimore City, does the red and white fleur represent the rest of the state?

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Maryland:

"The black and gold design on the flag is the coat of arms of the Calvert family. It was granted to George Calvert as a reward for his storming a fortification during a battle (the vertical bars approximate the bars of the palisade).[citation needed] The red and white design is the coat of arms of the Crossland family, the family of Calvert's mother, and features a cross bottony. Since George Calvert's mother was an heiress, he was entitled to use both coats of arms in his banner."

So the thread title is about Maryland but the photo is Georgia????

I'm not following......

...okay, curiosity got the better of me so I just googled it. The jersey looks good with the shoulder flag dealio. BUT THE HELMETS???  :P They should just paint the helmets so it looks like a terrapin shell.

Would we ever have known about Boise football had it not been for the putrid blue field?

They won 5 conference championships before going to the blue turf.  They've won 11 since then. Everyone is attempting to recreate that success, the difference being Boise was patient, to where most of these campuses will not be.

By the way, everybody was talking about Miami's problems leading up to the game.  Now everyone's talking about those Uni's.  Well played, Terps.  Well, played.

They do have a helmet that is a terrapin shell this year, apparently they will have different uniforms all year..  I like the terp shell better but this one was pretty cool too.  Something different, it has people talking about MD football.

Maybe whoever designed them was a fan of comic books.  It's the Royal Flush Gang:

The new uniform changes are apparently hideous enough to get the attention of the Fug Girls.
