NYE 2011
« on: November 13, 2011, 09:59:42 am »
Anyone good playing NYE? All I've seen thus far is Trombone Shorty at the Fillmore in San Francisco.

Where will you be on NYE?

First NYE as a single person in many years and figured a concert with hundreds/thousands of fellow screaming fans would be a good option.

If you want a great live show, you needn't look any further than the 9:30 Club. Beats the pants off a Trombone Shorty show.

Yeah, DBT/Booker T looks good and is conveniently located in town.

Clutch in Philly will be fun, too but getting to/from Philly on NYE will be a pain in the ass.

Yes.  I'm sure that's who a single person wants to spend New Year's Eve with.  Men and women who haven't shaved in three years (ANYWHERE) and smell of B.O. and grilled cheese.

i'm not a huge DBT fan so i wasn't really considering the 930. if it was booker t as the headliner and DBT as the opener, i'd reconsider.

not a phish fan. though they are friendly fans. a bit smelly at times. but  friendly.

i have no problems travelling-just want to keep it within the us.

surely there must be more NYE concerts?

Why not just check on the websites of some of your favorite bands? For example, I looked up Old 97's and found this:

12/31 ? Chicago, IL ? InterContinental Chicago O?Hare

That's not a public show; it's the Rabinowitz bar mitzvah.

I dunno.  Considering that they could probably play in Dallas on NYE and sell out most places there, they must be getting paid a lot of money for the Chicago show.
