Where did you read that?

And so what if they were? If a private event pays more than a club gig, why wouldn't an artist take the gig?

Old 97s are playing bar mitzvahs now?

according to ggw its the rabinowitz bar mitzvah..if ggw is making stuff up please disregard my words

usually when an "artist" is reduced to playing bar mitzvahs and go the wedding singer route its because they can't fill up clubs.

you're right that real artists like dylan and the stones will do private gigs for which they are paid millions.. somehow i doubt thats the case here.

sting famously and shamefully played a private gig for i want to say for the wedding of the daughter of the uzbeki dicktator..

Ive searched and can not really find anything good (not a DBT fan) in dc or Baltimore that night.  Any suggestions for local shows?

Next time you want to complain about your NYE options, think of me.  I am currently deployed and the USO is throwing a concert tonight.  Nice of them right?

Hey, it could be worse.

Not much worse.  But slightly worse, nonetheless.
