Most overrated:

Lydia Loveless - sounds like Neko Case outtakes

wow.. I love this record.... Neko Case is so boring though although I do like that one song with that band... plus Lydia's got a better voice.. and I think she was like 19 or 20 when this record was cut so she's only going to get better.

Indestructible Machine reminds me of the great alternative country records of the 1990s before the artists "matured" (ie., got old and boring and began to write mainly heavy ballads... )....its got some edge/grit to it

I notice she played Hill Country BBQ in June... I won't miss her the next time she's around..

Did you remember someone mad that post? What made you go back to a post from nearly two years ago?

sometimes i get bored with the main two pages . . . and love to read old threads.  you can find some real gems in there, and hutch demands only the finest in computer talk.

a few of these records are still on constant rotation for me. namely, destroyer, washed out, and wu lyf.  but as a whole, 2011 really was a pretty mediocre year for music.

this thread is also a scary reminder that we're about a week or two away from the onslaught of "Best Of" lists that come out and make everyone unreasonably butthurt.

Do you mean on here, or in general?  I have been working on mine for a few weeks already... It is looking like a top 40 or 50 type of year.

As for 2011 being mediocre... maybe for you, but I thought it was extremely strong, at least upon looking at what I listed for my best of on here. I guess it depends on what kinds of music you like.

stevewizzle is mostly into girl groups and experimental jazz... so 2011 was understandably pretty weak for him.

why would you watch a bunch of DUDES on stage when it could be a bunch of CHICKS?

i looked at your list and listened to only a handful, so that makes sense.

Please keep your list to 20 or less when posting on here. Nobody here cares to look at a 40-50 album eyesore of a list!
