Well I wish I had Can’s Monster Movie…one of the original 500…was just thinking that last week and lo and behold listening to my $1.99 cd in car right now…fantastic

Bob Dylan’s Freewheeling with withdrawn tracks recently sold for about 150K so I do think that’s the priciest record.

I mean, they have such a massive catalog that I suppose it's fine... however the Malkmus/Jicks repertoire is equally impressive.... if this pavement thing is more of a one off, then fine.

However,  if they continue to tour for years to come like forum favorites Ween, they should consider releasing some tuneage.

The Andy Warhol Museum announced Wednesday that it had discovered and digitized rare master tapes of the Velvet Underground’s seminal 1967 debut album “The Velvet Underground & Nico” from Verve Records.

The monophonic reel-to-reel ¼-inch tapes feature alternate versions and mixes of songs later issued on the 1967 release.

I feel like there is a new alternate version of that album discovered every three years at this point.

so they've found a better quality version of something that has already been released?  hard to get too excited about that.

the story says they digitized the tapes - so a few people had to be listening as the tapes were played back and re-recorded digitally.  so, yes, i'd say they're aware of what they've got.
