Earlier in the week as they reviewed her new book, the Post style section dubbed Patti Smith, the Godmother of Punk.  (Which I would agree with.  Horses is an incredible debut record.)

So, who's the Godfather??

I'm torn between the one who married Cameron Diaz and the one who married Nicole Richie.

Sometimes kids say things that bring tears to your eyes.

The other day my kid asked me if I would teach her about music, specifically rock music.

Where does one even start? Anybody know of a book that would appeal to a 12 year old?

oh wait you didn't say a book about an appealing 12yr old

I will say there is really no way to read about rock and roll...ya gotta listen to it man
William J said it best "there's a new band in town, but you can't get the sound from a story in a magazine"
almost have to start off with 'how do you define rock and roll and what era/type are you interested in'

but when I was about this age...this book changed my life...for realz

although this is filled with a fuck-ton of inappropriate and definitely illegal activity

Literally hadn’t even scanned to the left to see the name of who posted and I just knew.

NO. Lux Interior is the Godfather of Psychobilly. I think The Rev would agree.

Sorry, I got a little excited. Two days later she said she didn't care anymore.

Actually, pretty hard to argue that
The rev was self designated...so that was questionable to begin with
