Is that Yada next to Matthew Broderick?
OK, two people in this thread have now made me openly cackle at work.

Foo Fighters announce Bee Gees tribute album (as the Dee Gees) for Record Store Day

Which prompted this very pointed response

Shout out to all the DIY/Indie labels & bands whose projects will take a back seat to this dumbass record that no one asked for.

Hooky is auctioning off quite a few bits of history and lots of awards to raise funds for The Christie charity and Epilepsy Society.

http://www.omegaauctions.co.uk/news-media/news/the-peter-hook-signature-collection-2021/

including the “Prophet 5 Keyboard And Poly Sequencer” which gave Blue Monday its sound,

Rare releases ...including test pressings including albums such as “Substance” and “Low Life” and singles “Bizarre Love Triangle”, “Perfect Kiss”, “True Faith”, “Fine Time”, “World In Motion” and acetates of “Thieves Like Us” from Quincy Jones’ Qwest.

There are signed releases as well as live CD’s and cassettes both from the group’s tours and live dates throughout Hooky’s career as well as original tape reels and master tapes dating back to the earliest days of the band.

Hutch...did you see New Order with Hooky in Argentina?
and Hooky’s final audio rig “The End” from the farewell New Order concert in Buenos Aires November 2006.

The Smithsonian Anthology of Hip Hop and Rap boxset is finally shipping next week.

I backed this on Kickstarter in 2017 and the original ship date was to be 12/2018.  But, stuff got in the way including the Covid so it's had a bumpy ride....

Thing is I got this when I still had a car with a CD player in, so was keen to have to it for the commute.  But, now guess I'll be ripping it for when I actually start commuting...

I’m looking forward to getting my mitts on it Folkways always pulls together stellar anthologies which why I jumped on board.  One of the many hold ups was securing rights from many labels, etc

and speaking of "boxsets" i'll be ripping in the future...

i ended up ordering all three of the latest Posies Geffen records re-issues from Omnivore Records, they added a goodly number of tracks from the Geffen years to make it worth getting my mitts on them.  also, they got screwed over by the Pledge Music bankruptcy on these, as they were in the middle of a campaign for them at the time...

I told a teenager today I used to get 8 CDs or 12 cassettes for a penny in the mail, and I'm not sure if she thinks I'm lying about what a CD or cassette was, what a penny is, or what the mail is or all four.

Wow.... Blotto!  Brings back some memories of my youth in Albany, NY circa 1980.  They were inducted into the highly prestigious Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Hall of Fame last year.
