Looks like BRMC are on the verge of having their viral moment over a cease and desist letter being sent due to their recording of "God's Gonna Cut You Down" being used in a government video.  While Johnny Cash did the most recognizable version of the song it's considered a traditional folk song. Guessing those in charged felt the use of the BRMC version would fly under the radar.

having admittedly lost track of what BRMC was up to and learning that the bass player was the son of Mitch Benn it only makes sense they would have recorded a version of The Call's  Let the Day Begin

I think you mean Michael Been. He also was BMRC's sound engineer before he died

Listened to and watched Oasis shows from Cardiff and Heaton Park. It’s communal karaoke in the best sense. Crowd, band and song really united as one massive organism. Singing all the words together and often the riffs too. Past and present resolved.  The band alone feels more like an ‘exhibition’ than a proper championship match, but they nail all their marks and it’s delivered with the space and tempo to allow everyone to join in.  That’s more than enough. - and of course the actual visceral experience is another level.

That mass sing along seems to be uniquely British. Do Americans ever do that?

Mr. Brightside. In general. But also, specifically, at Michigan Stadium.

Ah, and the Seven Nation Army riff.  Many do it, but Michigan Stadium is the best.

I feel like we decided to let Penn State do the Seven Nation Army thing (sorry, Jack) once MBS fell into our lap.

so Michigan is getting fat off the petro-dollars of a middle eastern authoritarian ruler? As if we needed another reason to support Ohio...

It’s embarrassing for Penn State to co-opt a Detroit song.  They should show some pride and chant the riff from Lightning Crashes.

I tried to listen to the audio of Slide Away they posted from the Cardiff show, but gave up because what ever Liam is doing it ain't singing...But, if the fans are happy with it then more power to them

Lightning crashes, a new mother cries
Her placenta falls to the floor

Sometimes that’s the lengths one has to go to to get off the field on third down.

I agree. The band and Liam’s delivery is kind of lifeless (at least without benefit of live sound at maximum volume) . .but 80K singing along gives it life
