so do=ue to getting old and mind increasingly fuzzy and unable to completely this on the intertubes this morning.. this is what i've determined to be true.

I thought I had see Death Cult when they toured as part of a Batcave club in the US in the early 80s.  The Batcave being a well known goth hangout in London 83-84.

Anyways, based on trying to piece it together that tour occurred after the Death Club were touring here and the line-up was Alien Sex Fiend, The Specimen and Sex Gang Children..

and what i remember there was a lot of smoke and hair spray involved...

Today I learned about the backstory of the Andrea True Connection disco hit "More, More, More" due it being heavily used for Len "Steal My Sunshine" ... and pipe down at least it's not Coldplay

anyways

The song was originally recorded in 1975 in Jamaica where True, a porn star, had been appearing in a TV commercial. Unable to return the payment to the United States due to a government ban on asset transfers, she opted to invest the money in a studio recording to advance her career as a singer.

she basically money launder the profits of the commercial into a recording career

pick pocked from YT

True was doing commercials for hire in Jamaica when a state of political upheaval broke out on the island. She was looking for a way to get herself and her money back home to the USA. She called upon her friend, producer Greg Diamond, to help her get a song demo together - a way of laundering her money off of the Caribbean island in the form of a master tape. Diamond reportedly wrote the now-classic song in one hour and produced the whole demo with the help of island musicians - horn section and all

this made me LOL and to think of every time you see someone moaning on about how autotuning singers isn't real music that type of technology has been out there for decades

When asked about True's limited vocal ability, Diamond commented: "You can do marvelous things with tape delay."

That's a pretty great tale, honestly.

I think there is wide agreement that:

 Len > Coldplay

if only there was a thread for coldplay jokes

Starting the conspiracy theory that  Bad Moves have not in fact broken up and the last setlist tells the story.

Started with “End Of Time” and ended with “The Verge” so the “last” show ends with

“On the verge of something, oh..”

So a possible name change, secret shows, etc.  only time will tell
