The smart money would to buy whatever Morrissey has the rights to and then franchise The Smiths and allow regional versions of the band to exist like they did with 60s vocal groups. or just handed everything over to Rick Ashley and his investment group.
I think the Smiths have missed their chance….their fanbase is aging out or dying. They could have been a massive moneymaker but didn’t happen. Not to mention the brand is tainted by perception- right or wrong- that Morrissey is a right wing loon and unmitigated prick.

Still under water on Art Brut 69 and I don’t think any of the lesbian stoners in Art Brut 420 ever really intended on playing any shows.
