DC statehood in the wake of the election
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:56:27 pm »
Step up to the plate and come get what you have coming, all you DC haters. We've got the GOP bent over, it's time to make statehood happen now!

Though I must admit, I'll settle for no federal taxes. AND the commuter tax.

Time to make it happen!

You're not falling for that 'forward' shit like you all got sucked into the 'hope and change' nonesense are you?

I think Porto Rico should be given statehood, but DC is just a small city when all said and done.

Why not give Dubuque Iowa statehood? It's the same thing really.

Uh Dubuque, Iowa has two senators and a representive in congress.  Something that DC does not.  I mean how many more people does Wyoming have over Washington DC.

I'd be fine with retrocession to Maryland at this point.

No, it's not. Dubuque is not a federal district.

Baltimore politicians will fall on their swords to prevent that from ever occurring.

Why would us Marylanders want DC?  I think a better fit would be Virginia.

*shudders*  would retroceding into Maryland instantly make me as bad of a driver as Marylanders?

I'm not here to argue for or against statehood, just to say that this is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

because you gave it to us in the first place - virginia has already taken back their portion of DC (arlington / alexandria)
