just to be clear, he was not pardoned, his sentence was "commuted" and while he will be released, this conviction remains on his record.
forte's arrest, trial and sentence were shaky at best and due to a ridiculous law, he was forced to serve 14 years for a first offense non-violent crime. He has served half of that already.
I dont currently have a link, but i suggest anyone (manimtired) who likes to judge, read up on this as its quite interesting, as there is more to it and there are many other people falling trap to stupid laws that do not give a judge discretion to sentence appropriately.
