catching Metro from Stathmore
« on: March 20, 2013, 10:38:11 am »
Quick question- going to Nick Cave tonight.  Can I take Metro home?  Drove last time and it was a nightmare.

Thanks,

frippy

guess it would depend on what time the show ends... as long as it's before the last train, taking metro is pretty easy.  there is a covered walkway between the grosvenor-strathmore metro station (red line) and the venue.

Strathmore website says the show will last 150 minutes, from an 8:00 start.. that's 10:30.  Who knows how accurate that is though.  Last train is 11:42.

I'm going to try the Metro as well.  We shall see.

Why was it a nightmare last time?  I thought it was okay, but my husband knows the back roads from columbia.

Going tonight too!  Can't wait.

I used Metro last time I went to a show there. It couldn't have been easier. There's a covered walkway and everything. All you do is take the elevator in the parking garage up a few levels and there's a bridge that goes over the road in order to get you into the Strathmore. If driving seems unattractive, Metro will be much easier.

Nightmare because of traffic, bad weather and I lived in Fredericksburg, VA when we last went to a show there.  Now I am in Arlington so I am hoping the Metro commute will be okay. 8)

most shows there end between 10:30 and 11.

not really my favorite place to see a rock show.

Just scored orchestra row BB dead center seats on stubhub for $50..there's a lot of tickets there below face value, starting at $35.

I'm stoked.  Thought I was going to miss this.  The streak lives.

if you can afford the prices for this show you can afford to take a cab home if you miss the metro.
