Mix tape suggestions - old friends
« on: April 04, 2014, 08:36:47 am »
Hey bored bordies

I'm trying to put a mix tape (well it will be one of those old fangled CD's) together and was looking for some suggestions.

Meeting up with guys I've not seen in 25 years

I'm really having some writers block for some reason...so thought I'd throw it out there

St. Christopher is coming home Frank Turner
Photosynthesis  Frank Turner  (I know bad call to put two songs by same band)
I Can Tell That We Are Gonna Be Friends - White Stripes
My Wandering Days Are Over  - Belle and Sebastian (or Get Me Away from Here I'm Dying )
Losing My Edge - LCD Soundsystem,
We'll Meet Again - Johnny Cash

You should make them a mix on Spotify and send them the link.

I actually buy the music I put on mix tapes and was hoping to give them something to put in their car for the drive back

boys are back in town - thin lizzy
old friends - simon and garfunkle
boys and girls in america - hold steady

and just because it's totally nastalgia invoking for me for some reason  - johnny appleseed by joe strummer

Mostly what i've proven here (with the exception of the strummer tune) is that this would be a very difficult task for me to pull off without making it very cheesy.

Ironic? You didn't give any prerequisites except it was for friends you haven't seen in a couple decades.

Great American Canyon Band - Lost at Sea

(Good chill Baltimore band)
