Didn't Loretta Lynn just play the club?  Why didn't you see her?  I wanted to but the price was rich for my blood.

Here's the thing

Fun to see that there are other Boo Radleys and Jesus Jones fans.

And I agree that seeing the Ramones without Dee Dee is not really the same thing. I saw the version without Dee Dee...it felt like they were just going through the motions. But I can say I saw 'em.

Regret not seeing:
Smiths
Libertines (with Pete, but maybe there's a chance in the future?)
MBV

Honorable mention to the Stone Roses - I'd like to go but I know I'd be disappointed

Ones I'm glad I've seen because I don't know if I'll ever get another chance:
Pulp
Manics
Massive Attack
Prince
ʎɐʍou

Unsanity

Them Crooked Vultures (Coulda gone but that price tag....)
Faith No More (Hope they play more reunion gigs at some point)
At The Drive-In (They broke up pretty much right when I became a fan and their reunion gigs have been way too far away)

While you are all absolutely free to post whatever you want, and for the most part all the answers have been excellent choices. the intention of the thread was to post three bands that no longer exist due to death or what is generally perceived to be a permanent break up.  Carry on...

To add an interesting anecdote here, when I was in high school there was no middle school.  Elementary school was 1-6 and high school was 7-12.  During my 6 years at high school, the band director was personal friends with Buddy Rich.  Rich came to my school every year for those six years and performed a free concert for the students.  Like a total dumb ass I never went.  This was back in the early 70s when my weekly consumption of marijuana was about ¼-½ pound counting just personal use.  I am guessing that there was a direct connection between these facts.

Elliott Smith
Pulp
Daft Punk

Elliott Smith was one of the worst shows I ever saw.  It was awful.  Awful crowd, he was a mess, the band were jerks to the crowd.  Horrible.
