I just read that at age 16 Robert Smith wrote 10:15 Saturday Night...and 40 some years later I'm still in awe
I also never knew that both Simon Gallup and Robert Smith play bass on Primary (no guitar)

watching this great documentary, someone put together on youtube of just a ton of available video
THE CURE - UNTITLED DOCUMENTARY FILM SERIES (1-4)

Robert Smith should release more music now..the world needs some depressing music for our catharsis

It's only right that you should
Play the way you feel it
But listen carefully
To the sound of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
And what you lost
And what you had
And what you lost

That MPP show was so good
with six songs from The Head on the Door I was pretty much fulfilled

Couldn't agree more
Honestly, just him strumming out the classics on an acoustic guitar would probably result in millions of egasams worldwide

God what I wouldn't give for a live show by a band I was excited to see...it's first world problems, but fuck it hurts

yikes...

Perry Farrell had his voicebox removed during gruelling spinal surgery

"They had to remove my voice box and put it on a table."

In related news...he has a $300 box coming out with zero tracks from Janes or Porno4

oh and because all some do is complain and have to be in constant enraged mode, first it was Harry Styles wearing a dress on a magazine cover... and I like Tim Booth pointed that all of James were wearing dresses on the cover of their biggest album "Laid"

and today in moaning, BBC1 has decided to play an alternate "censored" version the classic "Fairytale of New York"  where the key line is replaced with "you're cheap and you're haggard" and word slut silenced.   needless to say some are losing their minds because of this  ::)

the pogues seem nonplussed by the whole thing

“This trench was supposed to last us the whole year,” Thompson says, looking over the mass grave. “Instead it was full within two months.”

Through the end of October, 2,009 New Yorkers have been buried on Hart Island in 2020, more than double last year’s total of 846. The bodies are buried over 131 acres of rolling meadows. The only signs of the dead are 3-ft. white posts stuck in the ground every 25 yd. or so. Each marker signifies 150 bodies below, and they are every-where on the island.

Hart Island is a uniquely New York phenomenon. In other cities, the indigent are cremated or buried at a traditional cemetery. Here, they’re buried together on an island inaccessible to most city residents. Although most New Yorkers are oblivious to its existence, Hart Island is a necessary by-product of a sprawling metropolis—not everyone can afford a formal funeral. And to people who oversee the graveyard, burial is a more sensible option than cremation. “What if someone is sent by mistake?” says Captain Martin Thompson, 59, of the city’s DOC, who has overseen operations on Hart Island for 15 years. “You can’t reverse a cremation.”
