grr, your comment is making me more bitter....

in case it's any consolation: i saw EitS a few years after this, and while they were great they didn't hit a peak like the 2007 show.  it was a case of an otherwise excellent show not meeting my (probably unrealistic) expectations.  i haven't seen them since, and i'm kinda OK with that... no use chasing a past moment.

i think peak for me was the 02-04 shows.. went to a dozen of those.  everything was a lot smaller.  working through material and such.  attendance for those was anywhere from about 25 (in venues with no PA system) to 3k, but mostly probably sub-500.
haven't seen them since 2016 mostly because i just haven't felt the urge to go to shows like i used to and the farther i get from it, the harder it is to go back.  maybe another aphex twin 1130pm doors show could do it.

Won tickets to that Kansas show from DC↯101. Seats were on the stage, behind the band. We were each given a branded flashlight (from their "Power" tour) and a lighting cue. Cheesey, but fun times for the moment. Then the moment's gone...

Kansas hold the distinction of having not one but two songs that make me want to grab my (apocryphal ) shotgun and blow my brains out.

Some college friends used to play them…

I of course am referring to Carry on my wayward son and Dust in the wind
