I'm so glad they're announcing the rapture ahead of time. I'd hate to not know when it is. With my luck it'd be right after I go grocery shopping for the week and all of that food would go bad.

No it isn't.   There has been a shoegaze resurgence for at least the last 8 years... With both newer bands adopting the style and older bands reuniting.
