I live less than a couple miles from that dump and have only attended three shows in three years... two of the same band, one was Rancid... all times tickets were purchased from a 3rd party site for like $15 or less.

Plus side... pre show nando's or quarry house tavern.

I saw Skinny Puppy and How to Desrroy Angels there. Not really a fan of the place - upstairs by the railings was all VIP only.

hate the area around it.  there was a good restaurant right down the way though.  getting there is a traffic mess sometimes.  the hotels there, are not great.  but, I did like the venue, for it seems newer and fresher, and I did believe it was easier to get a beer there when it was a busy packed show.

Also 100% surprised to see how many cover bands they book. We should just call it State Theatre North.

3) SS is inconvenient to much of NO VA. Again, if Metro wasn't unreliable and bordering on worthless on weekends, this would be a different story.

this may come as a shock to you, but the world - or even this region - doesn't revolve around NoVa... not everything is going to work out for NoVa'ites.

I don't live in NO VA and I, too, hate NO VA centric residents. I brought it up because I often bitch about concerts at JLL because it's so far out in BFE, cutting off access from half the metro region, especially during a work week.

My point still remains. SS would be a much better location for shows if the Metro was in better shape.

People are STILL bitching about FSS receiving Tax payer money?

What about the millions of dollars from taxpayers that are going towards improving MPP?

Grow up.

I don't really care, but one of the conditions was putting on community events
I sure as hell would not consider cover bands under that category...but Live might

Do IMP or Live Nation own MPP? No, of course not. IMP operates it. Seth pays for that privilege.
