I think Coachella, but that was like $150 for 2 days...for a single show, I think the VIP ticket I paid for the Bob Mould Wedrock show. I think it was about $100 or so. But nowadays, I will be very reluctant to spend more than $40 unless it's something very special.

A little over $50 each for 2 Tool tickets. Not too bad, it was worth it.

$40 each for Kraftwerk last year and Dylan/Mitchell several years ago. But I've had a few comps that were higher.

$120 each for scalped tix to radiohead this past summer (saw them at the tower theater).  i've flown to europe specifically for a festival or three, those clocked in at over a thousand if you include all costs.

i don't consider paying $50 for a ticket that notable anymore... Shadrach and Beats, are you implying that y'all get comp'ed all the time?!? ("i'm not going if i have to pay"...)

BONUS QUESTION: was it worth it?  most definitely was in my case, that show was amazing.  i missed out on the previous 2 tours because of travel, so this one was worth every penny.

Great topic! Not including multi-day festival tickets, I'd guess it was somewhere in the $250 - $300 range for a single Phish New Year's show ticket. Yep, those hippies love to turn a profit on eBay.

$80 for one day at Coachella through Ticketmaster, $140 for the second day on eBay.  Didn't decide to go until the last minute in 2004, and day two was already sold out.

I paid about $160 for Stones tickets in Baltimore.
 $125 for Clapton last month.

I think those are the only ones that broke the $100 mark.  WedRock too, if bearman is right about the price.

I'm not sure if anybody is gonna beat me on this one ... $650 on one front-row ticket to see Radiohead in Cleveland on the Kid A tour.  It was the first time I had ever seen them and I just went all out.  I had to eat bread sandwiches for the next 3 months, but it was worth it.

Yeah, it is pretty ridiculous to spend that much money on one show, but I was like 18 years old and eBay has this way of just driving you INSANE over winning an auction (for example: playstation 3 systems are selling for over $5,000 right now ... go check it out).  I was working part time as an IT guy at my dad's office ... making like $9.00 an hour, too, so that was pretty much an entire paycheck-and-a-half.

The show was AMAZING, though ... so yeah, I definitely think it was worth it.  After all, what is money other than something we get and give to make our lives (hopefully) better.

I spent $40+ each on two Belle and Sebastian tickets, and boy did it suck.

I tend to look for good shows that are 20 bucks and less. There are plenty of them to be had, so why bother with the expensive ones?

How much money do you give to charity each year?

I paid around $80 (give or take w/service charges) to see Morrissey at The Apollo. It was very worth it. I wanted tickets for a lot more nights, but at that price, I just couldnt afford it.

I got comped a lot when I worked in record stores; I've been out of that biz for a few years now. I rarely go to shows nowadays. As it happened, I was surprised that Kraftwerk was only $40. I would have paid more (within reason, of course).
