I am an avid record collector with about 20,000 titles and I am pretty anti-RSD but you take the cake!!!

I spent $37 today but not one RSD title.

Every day is RSD for me

I used to think RSD was a great idea, but it became entirely insular and co-opted by the majors. It's entire raison d'être has been erased. I'm definitely not alone in that assessment, and I'm far from the most critical. Ask an artist/label that can't get their wares pressed for months on end because of all the RSD shit. Oh, your record unexpectedly blew up and already sold out of its 200 copy pressing and you can't get more pressed for 4 months? Bummer, dude....

I bought one thing yesterday, Ashley Paul's latest. AIFF download from Bandcamp.

Your position about press delays is valid and it's unfortunate when a small act gets bumped so the majors can repackage the same old bullshit, but this time in limited, spatter vinyl.

To be clear I am no fan of RSD but it seems to work...

I popped into the Silver Spring spots around 1pm on Sunday to browse, didn't buy anything...

Went to Joe's and somehow they only received two records, which based on their track record isn't completely surprising.

I finally hit up the new Crooked Beat location on Sunday in Alexandria which was super nice and picked up Billy Breathes by Phish and then an impulse buy of the Wilco Live album from '96.

What percentage of your palatial estate would you estimate is taken up by records?

Arrived about an hour before opening at Purple Narwhal Records in Rockville,  the closest record store to my home.  Eleventh in line.  I enjoyed chatting with my fellow music nerds as we were treated to coffee and donuts by the owner.  Lo and behold, I got what I came for-  Grant Green's Funk in France.  Very pleased.  It's a beautifully packaged set.

Took a lot of restraint not to purchase that yesterday, but couldn't pull the trigger on the $79 price tag.

@hutch, I'd suggest getting your records out of your shed before they all warp and melt together.
