So the new Cee-Lo Green album CeeLo Green Is Thomas Callaway is shaping up to be a keeper.. Clearly Dan Auerbach has mastered a very specific sound which is both retro and modern at the same time.  This record has similarities to the Yola record from last year, hints of country and soul effortlessly blended together.  And as I suspected several Muscle Shoals sessions musicians are on this record.

technically not out yet (about 4 singles have been released)

Cornershop is up there but the Fiona Apple and Pheobe Bridgers albums are so good I don’t know how there’s time to discuss anything else.

The majority of the good music getting made today is by women . . . for about the 7th year in a row.

I did like the FA album and really is out there, but I had a hard time with repeat listens
Not sure why I haven't given the PB album a spin...but that's next
