This happened in good old Toronto TORONTO -- A man allegedly caught driving naked from the waist down while watching kiddie porn on his laptop via a stolen Internet connection was released on $5,000 bail yesterday. Walter Nowakowski is accused of driving in a residential Toronto area the wrong way down a one-way street and downloading child porn using stolen wireless Internet signals. He also faces numerous kiddie porn charges.
Nowakowski, 33, of Delhi, was released on a no-deposit bail after the Crown consented to his release. He was ordered to stay in his parents' Delhi home 24 hours a day unless he's with his guarantor or to go to work and he must be driven to and from his place of employment.
He was also ordered to stay out of Toronto, except to go to court, see his lawyer or for medical reasons.
In addition, Nowakowski is banned from computers except for use in the course of his job andthen only in the presence of a co-worker. But he is not to access the Internet using any means or for any reason.
His other release conditions include not to leave the province; not to possess any child porn; not to have any contact with anyone under age 18; and not to be near any parks, pools or anywhere someone under 18 may be.
Police allege that at 5 a.m. Nov. 19, a Toronto police officer found a driver not wearing pants watching a movie on his laptop of a 10-year-old girl performing oral sex on an adult.
Police allege the man downloaded the movie using an Internet connection he intercepted from a nearby house -- a practice sometimes called "war driving."
Nowakowski will be in court again Dec. 23.
