they deserved a bloated double album though ... too many ideas flying around on that record to shoehorn into one disc ... if it was 1 disc it would sound way too scatter-brained, at least they had a chance to spread out on 2 discs
 
 i haven't listened to that album in 7 years or so, hmmmm....

Venerable and I were enjoying a pint or two at the local watering hole in our neighborhood a couple weeks ago and the bartender played the whole album through on his iPod until I become frustrated with the album and we played Xmas music on the jukebox instead.  It only reiterated the claims I made earlier.  
 
 Perhaps tonight I will make a Melancholy... playlist that I think would have made for a brilliant album.

Didn't even think to check the date on this one.  I see now that not only was "Oh You're So Quiet Jens" a compilation, it was released in 2005.  Late on both counts.

true, but he has the same style.  hes like a refined Corgan.  so one could conclude that Corgan just finally got some singing lessons  ;)
