windows version isn't until 92 ($30!)
AOL starts around 91, can't say I got on the WWW (other than at college) at home, until 93-94
I know I never paid for it, most likely got it via sneaker net
But people were doing BBS stuff in the late 80s for sure and software piracy was street cred on the cul-de-sac
but you're right it's more of an early windows PC thing, rather than an early internet thing...but they were at the same time
