The Style Council was an amazing group of musicians who weren't tied to any one genre of music and could easily move between jazz, soul and pop.  Their sound is timeless and they managed some truly memorable songs along the way.  They influence many people to explore music beyond the sound of The Jam.

“Introducing....” was their first and,sadly, best release.  From there they were a singles band as far as I’m concerned. Some great, songs but the albums were underwhelming. I gave up on them after Internationalists.

Madonna is in the top 3, absolutely. Her impact to women and use of sexuality in popular culture was unparalleled.

Duran Duran, in the top 10. Especially for impact on music videos.

was reminded yesterday of the best three day stretch in a row of concerts I attended  in July 1983

The Police - Synchronicity Tour
David Bowie - Serious Moonlight Tour
Peter Gabriel - Security Tour

wasn't supposed to be three in a row, but silly Sting blew out his voice at a Tigers game and their two concerts scheduled had to delayed a day.  there was also two Bowie shows on tap also at Joe Louis Arena that week.
