Reading the Pogues book where Elvis Costello figures so prominently peaked my interest in him and I am finally tackling his huge autobiography after years of it sitting in a pile of music books... so far it’s great which is surprising as I had heard it sucks..but we shall see

Well I am enjoying it ..reading about music is the next best thing to listening
The first chapter was all about PIL...now it’s about the Pop Group and the Slits

My interest in that would certainly depend on the bands being discussed. What little I’ve heard about the book indicates it’s a detailed read but I may not care about a good number of the bands. Do check back when you’re done.
